two inviolate wildlife refuges.

History of the Hancock County Conservation Board
The Hancock County Conservation Board consists of five citizens
that are appointed by the county supervisors to acquire and maintain various
county-owned natural areas for the benefit of the county's inhabitants.
Since its establishment in 1959, the conservation board has become either
owners or managers of several public areas, together totaling over 1200
acres!
The Hancock County Conservation Board meets in the basement
of the Public Safety Center, located in Garner, Iowa on the third tuesday
of each month at 6:30 PM. These meetings are open to the public.
